Basic Function and Scope :
Reporting to the IT Infrastructure & Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring that a state-of-the art computing workplace is available to AL Hosn Gas IT users.
This Position is accountable and responsible for satisfactory resolution of all end-user information technology requests, including software, hardware, network, and systems support requests.
On behalf of the IT Division, ensures the availabillity and reliability of IT suystems & services by providing technical support for installation and maintenance of computer hardware and softwer that is comprised of desktop and notebook computers, printers, and other peripherals.
This position is responsible for protecting Company IT assets and corporate information against thareats to their security by implementing applicablw provisions for Asset tracking and IT secutity controls.
Task , Duties and Accountabilities :
.Leads the Installation and testing of the Hardware and Software products:
Manages the Ainstallation and configuration of computer hardware and peripherals in all Abu Dhabi and site locations in accordance with defined procedures.
Managers the Preparation of PCs with the required hardware and software configuration before dispatching to users in accordance with defines procedures.
Leads the Implementation of all hardware and software updates after evaluating them for their impact on resources, security, and performance.
. Ensures the adequate Support to the IT Resources Users:
A Ensures that the end user computing facility is utilized for the maximum business benefit by regularly assisting the users in resolving PC related software prolems, providing technical support on Microsoft desktop applications and company business applications.
B Ensures the Provision of first level support/help on Business Applications such as SAP ERP system, engineering applications, etc.
C Ensutes the training of IT Resources, the users on unfamilliar AL Hosn Gas features of the Microsoft Desktop operating system, Microsoft Office Suite and other Applications.
D Provide regular feedback to clients regarding their support requests.
* Plans and Leads the Help Desk Activities:
A Ensures the timely Troubleshooting of all desktop computers, printers, scanners and peripherals.
B Ensures the Troubleshooting of all Network configuration problems and carries out performance tuning and optimization on desktop computers.
C Lead all AL Hosn Gas IT Service Desk administrative tasks in producing Statical and Monitoring Reports, procedures and processes.
D Maintains an appropriate level of expertise in client hardware configuration and trounleshooting, network desktop software packages and in business unit specific application and systems implmentations.
* Coordinate with the Vendors and Suppliers Engineers:
A Plans and manages the activities of Suppliers Englneers and Contracted staff involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of computer systems for Company Network and other hardware related peripherals.
* Coordinate with the Internal Divisions:
A Provides work direction and guidance to General Services Contracted Personnel providing environmental requirements such as power specification, cooling, spacetequirements and security systems.
B Coordinates with otherIT Departments to meet any cabling requirements for new network connections. And troubleshooting existing connection problems.
C Coornates the preparation of site and equipment layout plan for all new hardware and upgrades in computer suite. Carries out site verification and ensures that all environmental and power specifications are met as per recommendations of manufacturers/Company HSE Policy.
* Manages the IT assets inventory :
A Manages the IT inventory Management, User Requirement Analysis, Hardware maintenance and replacement plan, etc.
* Leads the ITSM implementation in AL Hosn Gas IT Division:
A In coordination with other functions within the IT Division. Leads the implementaion of the ITSM (ITIL type) service management practices.
Additional Duties :
Provides input for preparing Annual Maintenance Contracts for requipment whose warranty has expired. Evaluates Vendor proposals for AMC and provides recommendation on the contract obligations and vendor selection.
Contrinutes toward and promotes the protection of the AL Hosn Gas IT assets and corporates information against threats to their security by implementing the Information secutity Policy and all other related rules, regulations and guidelines.
Evaluates vendor proposals and preparing technical recommendation on PCs and peripherals (e.g. printers, plotters, scanners, etc,), Network Cabling and other hardware requirements.
Conducts surveys/studies at the request of it management on the utilization of hardware, new products, etc. and submits reports with recommendations.
Provides inputs for the IT Division Plan & Budget preparation.
Implements AL Hosn Gas Information Secutity Policy in the job functions, where applicable. Reports any security breaches observed. Promotes security awareness among the users.
Ensures the AL Hosn Gas HS&E Policy provisions are observed in the job functions:
Builds and maintains sufficient knowledge of Company (AL Hosn Gas ) products, services and company philosophy as the role demands.
Any other related jobn assigned.

Liaisons within IT Division to develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs and to ensure IT Clients Services are provided as per the provisions of the SLAs).
Frequent contact with users in all categories from Mnagement to employees at operational leavel on hardware support and trouble shooting.
External
Liaise with Company (AL Hosn Gas) suppliers on behalf of the clients or consultants to resolve technical issues and exchanging Information regarding configuration and mode of operation.
Regular contact with Hardware Vendors and Purchasing / Commercial Division to obtain latest product information and specifications.
Latitude (Independence of Operation):
Reports to Reports to the IT Infrastructure and Operation Manager in the IT Division.
Works according to professional Technical Standarsds and established procedures.
