Database Administrator - dba for Dubai Police (Dubai)

Experience: 5 to 10 yrs.  | Salary: U.S Dollars 45,000 - 50,000 P.A

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.

• Oracle Certification in 10g/11g RAC OCM Certification (Plus) .
• MS SQL certification (Plus) .

Job Description: The Database Administrator will be accountable for databases that are critical to our Application systems. Our systems span multiple terabytes of storage utilizing Oracle technologies like RAC, ASM etc. a The Database Administrator will be responsible for administering Oracle 10g/11g databases that run primarily on Unix/Linux and Windows platforms. 

Duties Responsibilities: 

• Architect, install, configure and support Oracle databases including RAC Systems environments (both on Windows and Linux.
• - Setup, monitor, and maintain disaster recovery solutions for production databases.
• - Monitor database space and capacity, estimate sizing and growth requirements.
• Database performance tuning.
• Review & tune complex SQL statements.
• Maintain Backup and Recovery procedures. 
• Assist with BCP plans, test and implement BCP solutions.
• Partner with application development teams to review designs of new databases or changes to existing databases.
• Assume ownership of database related problems pursue short and long-term problem resolution and root cause analysis. 
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to solve database level issues including availability and stability of the database environments. 
• Work with vendors and internal support representatives to gather information, determine and implement resolutions
• Research and recommend best practices including new database features. 
• Proactively research and identify database level patches and upgrades.
• Provide advanced level technical support in 24x7 on call rotation. 
• Maintain standard operating procedures specifically focused on stable database environments. 
• Maintain proper records for database monitoring and performance tune up results.

Skills: 

• Excellent communication skills.
• At least 5 years experience as Oracle administrator.
• Expert level proficiency in 10g/11g Oracle RAC, data guard, ASM, OEM and Grid Control Environment.
• Experience in managing Large and mission critical databases
• Working Experience in Oracle Spatial Database.
• Oracle DBA Experience on Windows/Linux platforms
• Proficiency in performance and tuning of large database Environment. 
• Knowledge in Virtualized Environments (VMWARE, ORACLE VM).
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivation and ability to learn quickly.
