The Instrumentation / Electrical Maintenance Technician is critical in maintaining the reliability of the product terminal's operating capabilities.
Duties and responsibilities
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots and repairs process instrumentation and electrical equipment
Executes preventative and predictive maintenance programs for Instrumentation and Electrical systems
Participates in failure analysis and troubleshooting
Maintains equipment histories as required
Works effectively in a flexible team environment, and communicates clearly with peers and management
Assists other Maintenance and/or Process Operations as required
Participates in facility safety and quality management programs
Qualifications
Must have a current Journeyman Instrumentation trade qualification
Preference given to those who possess a dual trade ticket in Instrumentation and Electrical
Minimum five years industrial experience required
Must be a safety conscious individual who understands, appreciates, and demonstrates safe work practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills
Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (W.H.M.I.S) and Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations
Ability to work and communicate in a team environment - good interpersonal skills
Mechanical and Maintenance Engineer
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of the mill mechanical equipment, support systems, buildings, and services, ensuring maximum availability of equipment in support of quality and production.
Duties and responsibilities
Monitors equipment condition, anticipates potential failures, and formulates solutions.
For critical and relevant equipment, define reliability envelopes and confirm that the design and specification of that equipment is such that it will be able to consistently operate within that envelope. Consider start-up, plateau, middle and end-of-life production levels.
Ensure repair and spares strategy is defined for equipment, identifying the stocking criteria and the response to failure. Repair strategy shall include guidance on the strategic decision for repair versus replacement.
Ensure Criticality assessments are reviewed based on design changes, system modifications, major changes in operating regimes and lessons learned from particular equipment failures.
Provide input to the schedule to ensure spare parts are ordered and delivered to confirm that they are in place within managed stock prior to the associated equipment being placed into service.
Qualifications Valid trades qualification or relevant Engineering Degree
Three - five years industrial experience required
Understanding of mill-wide electrical and instrumentation equipment
Familiarity with pulp process and related equipment
Proficient in written and spoken English
Must be a safety conscious individual who understands, appreciates, and demonstrates safe work practices
