The position would be responsible Purchase and Importation of Engineering Material and Raw Material in which includes.
Develop internal documentation / procedure for each activity of the purchase function and get the approval of MD
Comply the DoA / SOP manuals and should a deviation is necessary, get the approval
Visit Factory, engage in technical discussions with the Unit / Dept Heads & Managers to understand the Specification, Application of each Raw material, Spares & Consumables etc
Tabulate the Requirements of each and every Raw Material and make an annual Plan.
Develop alternative/new vendor for each material, meet the existing local vendors and visit their factories / warehouses / Offices to understand their capabilities vis-a-vis our requirement, quality parameters etc.
Get quotes, compare giving due weightage to quality, service, productivity, price, credit terms etc and recommend for approval, based on DoA / SOP
Release Purchase orders (for Local purchases) / Order confirmations to the buying house (for overseas buying house) and follow up for delivery / shipments
In the case of Importation, establish import license, follow up for import documents, clear the shipment and arrange for delivery to the factory
Up on arrival of the material at factory, ensure that the material is accounted and advise Accounts for necessary entries in the books
Recommending Annual/Half Yearly/Quarterly Contracts for Raw Materials where applicable
Graduate in Engineering with Minimum 10 Years Experience in the purchase and importation (Import) of Engineering material and Raw Material in a medium size Cement / Asbestos sheeting / Chemical Industry. 2 years of experience in the operation or maintenance of any medium size factory would add value to the application
Offshore Savings in USD + Local Salary + Free Accommodation + Medical + Conveyance + Air Passage
